Matthew RJ Brodsky joins World Policy Institute Fellow Jonathan Cristol on ClearCut with Shayna Estulin on i24News to discuss President Trump's options in response to the reported use of a nerve agent in Syria. They also explore the politics involved in the decision and how the appointment of John Bolton to head the National Security Council may change things going forward. Brodsky separates out the three recent events: 1) the Israeli strike against the T-4 airbase the night before; 2) the action the Trump administration is considering in response to the use of a nerve agent; 3) President Trump's repeated statements that he'd like the U.S. to pull out of Syria as soon as possible. "Deterrence isn't a one-off event," according to Brodsky, "it's an ongoing process where one is constantly calibrating how the rules of engagement are working."
